R’ Nachum Danzig is the Maggid Shiur of Yashrut’s Semikhah Initiative. He hails from Montclair, NJ and lives in Jerusalem with his wife and their four children. R’ Nachum studied for many years at David Shapell College of Jewish Studies/Yeshiva Darchei Noam, and then studied for semikhah at the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT),  where he was ordained by his teacher R’ Zalman Nechemia Goldberg z”l in 1998. R’ Nachum went on to study in the kollel at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies where he learned from and taught with R’ Daniel Landes.  He also studied at the Shalom Hartman Institute. He holds a BA in Economics from Brandeis University, an MA in Classical Studies from Bar Ilan University, a B.Tech in Computer Science from JCT, and has studied towards an MA in Jewish Thought at the Hebrew University. After working for many years as a computer engineer, he has been teaching Computer Science at JCT in concert with his teaching in Yashrut’s Semikhah Initiative. He has previously taught at Yeshivat Yesodei HaTorah. He is interested in exploring how the Rishonim interpreted the Talmud and developed normative Halacha.
