The Classic Talmud Program (CTP) is a skills-focused program aimed at improving students’ abilities to study Talmud deeply and independently, utilizing traditional modes of Talmud study and employing multiple pedagogical modalities.
Yashrut trains outstanding scholars for Orthodox Semikhah (rabbinic training/ordination) through the study of Talmud and Halacha. Students tackle the full range of halachic literature, synthesize the material, and exhibit creative thinking.
Yashrut’s current students, alumni can be found all over the world exhibiting excellence in leading Torah institutions and providing voices of insight and inspiration. Whether in professional or volunteer roles, they embody and share the values of Yashrut.
Founded and led by Rabbi Daniel Landes, Yashrut is a Torah institution dedicated to the rigorous study of Talmud and Halacha, and the pursuit of moral integrity. Yashrut ordains Rabbis and educates students who are dedicated to serving humanity and the Jewish people. Yashrut is committed to cultivating a highly-educated, passionate cadre of Jewish learners and leaders to demonstrate and promote the Torah’s call to moral excellence, providing strength to the Jewish people and the world.
Rabbi Daniel Landes is known for his involvement in the arenas of human rights, interdenominational Jewish dialogue and debate and interfaith efforts. His commitment to expanding access to learning and conferring titled leadership to students in historically marginalized groups in the Jewish community led to him being recognized in 2016 among the “Forward 50,” for “pushing the envelope of Orthodoxy” and “proposing new forms of gender equality within observant Jewish settings.”
Yashrut teachers, with a passion for Torah that is infectious, foster a non-judgmental and serious atmosphere empowering a process of learning that is absolutely exceptional – the most meaningful text study I have ever done.

Yashrut has deep roots in ordaining Rabbis. When Yashrut opened in 2018, it became the home to students of Founder Rav Daniel Landes – many of whom he would give Semikhah (ordain) – as the first ordainees of Yashrut. These new Rabbis joined close to 30 others who received Semikhah from Rav Landes in the years leading up to Yashrut’s official inception.
Since its founding in 2018, Yashrut has offered student programs tuition-free and provided resources to the global Jewish community at little cost to participants. This has been made possible through the generous financial support of individuals and foundations who believe in Yashrut’s vision and the work of Yashrut Founder, Rabbi Daniel Landes. We invite you to make a donation to enable Yashrut’s continued work and long-term success.
